| Ted Salmon victorious
in Buckden Christmas Lights contest
Buckden resident Ted Salmon (left) has
once again triumphed in the Christmas Lights competition. Ted's display
was the clear winner, according to the judging committee (Chair - E
Salmon), although the runner up - Mr. Gordon Kilvington - was also highly
commended. Co-incidentally, Mr. Kilvington was the other member of the
judging panel. The prize of £25 and a half bottle of scotch was donated by
an anonymous resident. Ted has generously agreed to donate the prize
money to the Buckden Beck Life Belt Appeal. Click
here for details. Ted, who inaugurated the contest as he
felt that the standard of festive decoration in Upper Buckden in 2005
was rather disappointing, is delighted to have won. Interviewed in his Ted added that he would like to particularly thank his technical assistant, Zac (left), for his enthusiasm and assistance. Unfortunately, due to technical problems,
we were unable to get a picture of Ted's lights while they were switched
on. However, the pictures below give an impression of the display. (Left
to right: the trees which the lights were in; the lights when they were
turned off; some lights similar to Ted's - but obviously not as good. |
