Hardcastle's Christmas Punch The Penny Plain Theatre Company led by our local Doctor - Andrew Jackson - have put on an number of performances of a Christmas Show - "Hardcastle's Christmas Punch" at pubs around the dale. Their pre-Christmas show in Buckden was greatly enjoyed by those who were present, but the unfortunate venue resulted in a poor turn-out. The troupe have kindly agreed to put on a repeat show at the start of this months quiz. The performance, which is part of the company's Christmas Tour of of the Dale, consists of "a Christmas Mummer's play, Yorkshire Carol signing and wassailing" (which as those of you who were at last month's Quiz will remember is an ancient Anglo-Saxon tradition). The performance lasts about 30 minutes and will take place immediately before the quiz.

NEW YEAR QUIZ NIGHT

7th January. Doors open from 7 pm Special Guest Appearance by the
Penny Plain Theatre Co. performing "Hardcastle's Christmas
Punch!" (see below for details) 7:30 pm There will be a Jacob's Join
supper so, have a light tea and bring some Supper! Argue if you dare ~ the Judge's
decision is FINAL. Entrance £1:50 per person in aid
of the Yorkshire Air Ambulance Service. To date this Season, your
generosity has raised over £500. |
