The Buck Inn under new management.
At long last the Baskerville tenure at the Buck Inn has come to an end. The pub opened tonight under new management after two days of intensive cleaning by the new management. The new team (pictured below) are husband and wife team, Peter & Julie Brewer, and Alf Barrett. They come to the Buck from the Three Horseshoes in Graveley, near St Neots in Cambridgeshire.

L to R: Alf, Julie, Peter The team are only too aware of how much work there is to do, but explained that they are committed to turning the pub around and putting right the neglect of the last couple of years. The beer lines have already been replaced and a couple of the bedrooms sorted out. An intensive cleaning programme of the bar and lounge areas has been carried out, and the new team intend to start a complete redecoration and refurbishment programme, the intention being "to restore the Buck to its former glory". From tomorrow night (Friday) food will be served.
A number of villagers ventured into the Buck tonight for the first time for many months, and were made very welcome by the new team, in spite of their clearly being very tired after their hard work of the last few days. The new owners made it very clear that they have no connection whatsoever with the previous owner. We wish them every success in their plans to turn the Buck around. |
