Buckden Singers – Grand Opening of the new Piano

Since their inauguration in January, Buckden Singers have been rehearsing with a borrowed piano; in July it was discovered that the piano’s owner needed it back and it seemed as though John Cowpe would be accompanying the Singers on his kazoo.

In the nick of time however, an anonymous donor stepped into the breach and bought a new piano for the singers to use. It is a Korg SP 200 stage piano with full-size 88 note velocity sensitive hammer action keyboard, 30 voices, 60 note polyphony and stereo PCM tone generation. The piano was used for the first time at the rehearsal on 20th August following an opening ceremony performed by local crooner, Wilf Jowsey. Buckden Singers would like to express their very sincere thanks to the anonymous donor whose generosity has allowed the Singers to continue on the path to stardom.
