August Walks - Details

Monday Walk

Date:            Monday 4^th August 2008 

Location:      Yockenthwaite – a circular walk.   {See National Trust   “Hill Walks in Upper Wharfedale”}                      

Distance:       Approx. 5.6 ml.  

                     Up Horse Head Pass and along the lonely* moorland ridge to Beckermonds, with magnificent views of the Three
                     Peaks, returning on the Dales Way along Deepdale. {* … of course, you’re never ‘lonely’ with Buckden Walkers!}   

Meet:            Outside The Buck Inn, in time to depart at 10:30 a.m. Transport can be provided. Bring a picnic lunch.

Evening Stroll

Date:         Wednesday 13^th August 2008

Location:   Bishopdale - circular walk

Distance:   T.B.A. - but will take just over an hour and a half

Meet:         Street Head Inn in time to order a meal before staring the stroll at 6:30pm. Non-walkers should aim to arrive
                  at Street Head about 8pm to place their orders.

Location:   Cotterdale

Distance:   Six miles - "easy walking"

Meet:         Outside the Buck Inn for departure by 10:30am.  Bring a picnic. Possible pub halt for a drink after the walk.
