Service Providers
NYnet
was
established by North Yorkshire County Council to provide higher
quality and faster broadband to the public sector. Whilst NYnet
can offer services to the public sector it is not able to supply
businesses and householders with broadband because of European
State Aid and Competition regulations. However, under State Aid
rule it is allowed to wholesale to Internet Service Providers,
which includes Community ISPs. NYnet has demonstrated that with a small amount of capital funding the lives of residents in remote rural locations such as Upper Wharfedale can be transformed with high speed broadband,” |
||
NYnet will work with a community service provider - LN Communications - which will install, maintain and manage the wireless network from an NYnet fibre connected site located at Kettlewell Primary School which will receive an income (c. £480 p.a.) for hosting the service. | ||
LN Communications will offer the service to customers under the ilovebroadband name - which is their consumer broadband brand. |
